Life as an Employee at Robinson Industries - Robinson Industries

I’d like to welcome a very special guest blogger, Kennedy Shea. Kennedy has been employed at Robinson Industries for the last two years in various positions as she’s pursued her college education. This summer, she’s assisting me in the marketing department as a marketing intern. Trust me – she’s not the only one learning a lot this summer!

I am one of 200+ employees who are proud to say “I work at Robinson Industries,” the smallest big company in the thermoforming industry.

I knew when I became an employee of Robinson Industries that I would learn a great deal about what it takes to be a successful global corporation. After all, Robinson Industries has been serving the thermoforming industry since 1947. I was hungry to learn about plastics manufacturing, quality and environmental controls and the high commitment to employee safety that is the industry reputation of Robinson Industries.

The formula for making plastic includes a scientific combination of polymers and resins, but I’ve learned there are additional elements which are equally important to the integrity, durability and longevity of the product. And all of those elements come from the principles that Fred and Ardis Robinson established for us. The leaders of Robinson Industries are committed not only to plastic, but to people. The people who work for them. The people who buy from them. The people who live in the communities they serve.

I grew up in a small business. I couldn’t wait to learn about “big business.” My greatest discovery is that at Robinson Industries, you can be both. The “heart” which beats beneath the business mindset is even bigger than the buildings which churn out 15 million pounds of plastic each year. We are a company devoted to manufacturing product, but our greatest product is our people. If you ask anyone who is employed by Robinson, they will tell you management truly cares for all. Our company is made of hard workers … and you will find them at all levels of the company. Many people see owners, such as Treva Robinson, walking around the floor talking to production operators. It is not difficult for anyone – inside or outside the company – to reach the owners of this company. So stop by – we are all proud of our operation. We are even more proud of our “operators.” We are one big family here, and we wouldn’t want it any other way.
