Thermoform Tool Development
Many manufacturers are purchasing thermoformed pallets to streamline their production processes. These companies are looking to cut down on production time while ensuring a high-quality product for demanding customers. Many clients are curious about the thermoforming equipment used to produce their products.

Learn the Intricacies of Thermoform Equipment
The initial step in the thermoform process is the creation of a detailed mold.  One method used in mold production is CNC. The mold's shape is generated by designers who feed dimensions and details into CNC machines. These machines cut raw metals into molds that are used in conjunction with thermoforming equipment. Another commonly used process is poured cast aluminum tooling using a custom made wood prototype as a form. Most manufacturers use cast aluminum molds to withstand the high heat created during thermoforming.

Industrial heat lamps are another type of equipment used by pallet manufacturers. The most common heater used in pallet production is infrared because it is easy to control the temperature of these heaters. Some manufacturers use gas-powered heaters to speed up plastic heating for faster production runs.

Robinson Industries Inc. uses the latest thermoforming equipment to complete custom designs for shipping companies. Shippers can work with Robinson's sales staff at sales@robinsonind.com to determine timelines for production.
