Packaging Options for Safe Product Delivery
Many products such as computers, televisions and car engines are shipped in packaging materials to withstand jostling during domestic and international shipments. These products could easily be damaged before arriving at their destinations if they were left on open pallets.  Each worker involved in packaging and shipping needs to be trained to take proper care when handling items for shipment.

The best way for manufacturers to maintain consistency in packaging is to consider using a single standard for pallet packing. Warehouse workers should be trained on the specifics of handling each individual product.

The practice of securing pallets with hard plastic bands has led to costly losses from damaged merchandise. In some cases, manufacturers may need to require warehouse workers to use nylon seat belts when packing containers.  The seat belt option available on many Robinson Industries pallets is reusable thereby saving money.  The elimination of steel or plastic banding also reduces the amount of lost time due to injuries created when traditional banding snaps injuring fingers, arms, and eyes.

 Other options that can enhance a pallet pack are color coding, labeling, stripe identification, plastic sleeves, and plastic additives such as fire retardant, UV protection or VCI protection and urethane inserts for protection for sharp products or class A surfaces.
